Wal-mart Information Session
September 21, 2016to September 21, 2016

Walmart will be visiting Memorial University this September 21st for an information/networking session to speak to students about their rotational “DARE” program which develops accelerated retail experience. The process would include an info session (generally hosted the last 2 weeks of Sept), followed by 3 rounds of interviews and finally we extend offers end of Oct/early Nov.

There are two streams for this program: a 1-year Home Office rotation through key disciplines (Merchandising, Ecom, Marketing, Supply chain, Logistics/Transportation, Strategy, and Private Label Sourcing/Development to name a few), and a 3-year rotation that has a strong focus on combining operations and merchandising expertise.

We traditionally recruit from BA, Commerce, and MBA programs but are open to learning more about students attending Memorial University taking part in other programs as well.

To be eligible for the program, students must be graduating Dec 2016 or June 2017 – start dates for the “DARE” program would be Aug 2017.

Make Midterm Matter Fall 16
September 22, 2016to October 07, 2016

On Tuesday, October 11, 2016, spend one day of your midterm break making a difference. Start having conversations in your community. Register for Make Midterm Matter!

Make Midterm Matter takes place each semester at Memorial University. Students spend one day of midterm break volunteering, learning, and engaging at designated community organizations. For the Fall Term the theme is "community conversations." We will be listening, and learning while volunteering, at Pippy Park, at the Gathering Place, at Bridges to Hope, in the MUN Botanical Garden, at the Elaine Dobbin Centre for Autism, at the Johnson GeoCentre, at the Refugee and Immigrant Advisory Council, the Association for New Canadians, at Memorial University's Community Garden, and at the Suncor Fluvarium.

At each location you can expect to communicate and problem-solve in small teams, have conversations with the staff and clients of each organization, and learn how you might help meet certain needs and challenges while assisting them with their operations. You will learn how to be active participants in community conversations.

PLEASE SELECT ONLY ONE LOCATION TO VOLUNTEER.

Registration for this event will close Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 12:00 noon.
